Job Description
The role is responsible for building excellence in Supply Chain safety, working with leaders and teams to define, develop and implement leading practice in Supply Chain safety, drive continuous improvement to attain and maintain performance targets, facilitate the development and roll-out of policy, standards and procedures and build the requisite people capability. The 2 core areas of work are CPM and ORM. The Safety and Risk Manager will form part of the CPM global project team, driving a standard way of working for how AA interacts with our suppliers performing some of our highest risk work. This role will also lead ORM deployment at the global level for our BUs.
The role is also responsible for being the overall 2nd line leader of the Supply Chain Risk Mgmt framework. The role ensures all first line risk mgmt owners are maintaining adequate control of their risk environment. It sets and maintains the framework for risk mgmt for the global supply chain, including the SC policy and standards landscape and working with ABAS to co-ordinate the audit and assessment calendar.

Translate the global Supply Chain strategy into a Supply Chain safety & risk mgmt strategy with critical tasks, priorities and performance targets.
Act as a member of the global CPM project team whose responsibility it is to deploy CPM globally, representing Supply Chain Safety.
Provide strategic input into the planning processes and management routines to ensure critical safety and risk mgmt initiatives are reflected.
Embrace an agile Supply Chain by being adaptive and flexible to accommodate and focus on emerging and changing business priorities as required.
Collaborate with the Centre of Excellence Managers to define strategies and build reports/dashboards for implementation and tracking.
Responsible for establishing and maintaining effective contractor performance management across the organisation
Responsible for building safety capability (ORM) across Supply Chain, through coaching, advanced analytics, and implementation of excellence frameworks.
Identify and implement best practice opportunities through broad scanning, trend & data analysis and benchmarking.
Lead deployment of relevant policies & standards (including Contractor Performance Management) to enable achievement of gold-standard safety performance.
Partner with IM for the effective implementation and maintenance of a system for Contractor Performance Management.
Define, oversee and support the design of systems to streamline work and deliver across key performance areas.
Facilitate the development and roll-out of Supply Chain Safety policies, standards and procedures, monitoring adoption and adherence to requirements.
Ensure personal and team compliance to the Supply Chain policy, standards, tools and operational risk assessments and proactively provide continuous improvement feedback to the relevant teams.
Facilitate an assessment process for contracts and supplier performance management to ensure effective operationalisation
Qualifications
Qualification: An undergraduate qualification - bachelors degree level or equivalent
Experience: Proven track record of extensive practical experience in relevant field
Desirable: A postgraduate qualification (Honours/ Masters degree or equivalent) in a relevant discipline OR a proven track record of extensive practical experience in a role and context of similar complexity
Technical Knowledge:
Strong technical knowledge across the Supply Chain Value Chain
Strong knowledge and understanding of safety processes
Leadership tools for implementing a culture of purpose led high performance and change projects
Ability to integrate and understand what drives excellence in specific area of expertise as it relates to Supply Chain
