To respond to enquiries from the International corporate, government and association market. Bid for international association conferences. Convert business to ensure the target for International Conferences are met and exceeded. Meet and exceed set revenue and event number targets. Pro-actively sell the CTICC to potential clients. Research potential events to host and target accordingly, aligned with the City of Cape Towns catalytic sectors.
Reporting to the: Head of Sales
Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Increase sales
- Proactively identify and establish contact with potential and existing clients.
- Maintain contact with new and existing clients to generate new leads for international conferences.
- Respond to sales enquiries within 24 hours from new and existing client enquiries.
- Coordinate and conduct site inspections for potential and existing clients.
- Delivering of CTICC presentations at tradeshows, off site at client offices or on site at CTICC.
- Provide feedback from clients to enhance the CTICC product functioning and service delivery.
- Research international association conference leads and source local association contacts and set up sales meetings in order to bid for events.
- Research and approach international corporate and government events and set up sales meetings.
- Follow up on leads received from international sales representative.
- Negotiate rates and contractual clauses.
- Upsell CTICC additional services not limited to catering, audio-visual and dcor.
- Any other assistance over and above the duties in this job description as required by CTICC on an ad hoc basis.
- Meet and exceed annual revenue and event number targets for the international market segment.
- Negotiate rates with clients and offer variety of options to ensure that the client budget is met, however that CTICC yields maximum revenue.
- Upsell CTICC additional services not limited to catering, audio-visual and dcor.
- Ensuring proper interdepartmental communication.
- Building and maintaining good client relationships by conducting sales calls, site inspections, cold calls and attending CRM events.
- Represent the CTICC at relevant trade shows, workshops and industry functions.
- Manage and maintain meaningful relationships with industry stakeholders and partners.
- Activate events to showcase the CTICC services and offering to bidding events.
- Involve the relevant departments at client meetings to ensure that proper communication and event handovers are maintained.
- Ensure client service delivery is according to expectations and achieve 80% in Customer Survey Reports.
- Completing sales reports required for analysis.
- Maintain the CTICC contact database on EBMS.
- Report on bids submitted and bids lost.
- Maintain the EBMS Opportunity database with intellectual property on each event.
- Monthly report on key performance indicators as set by the Business Development Manager: International.
- Ad hoc reports as maybe requested from time to time.
- Matric or equivalent.
- Degree/Diploma and or professional qualifications from a reputable institution or hotel school.
- Minimum five (5) years' experience in a similar position.
- Computer literacy on various computer software programs (MS Office).
- Accurate, with due attention to detail.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Be assertive, confident and meet deadlines.
- Ability to communicate with all levels of employees as well as with, stakeholders and clients.
- Good negotiation skills to deal with different kinds of customers.
- Ability to remain up to date with hospitality and convention trends.
- Proven ability to implement professional service standards by supporting staff members.
- Ability to apply innovative solutions to complex challenges.
