The company's brand is synonymous with Quality and Reliability, and the manufactured products cover the Original Equipment market (OEM) as well as the replacement Parts & Accessories (P&A) market. Their product range consists of an Automotive range: Headlights, Tail lights, Spot lights, Signal lights and Specialised Plastic Injection Mouldings.
Role Description:
Reporting to the General Manager the Sales Manager's performance areas include, but are not limited to:
- Visit customers on an ongoing basis.
- Assist Product Development Department to obtain new business and to promote products according to plan.
- Co-ordinate the development of new business with Product Development in accordance with customer requirements.
- Provide technical and service assistance to customers as required.
- Promote products and new developments to customers.
- Follow-up and action budget quotations, and sample status reports, product development etc.
- Ensure that customer requirements are met e.g., provide official quotations, samples etc.
- Receive and prioritize customer requirements liaise with relevant departments and management to arrange deadlines, quality standards, production planning (MPS),
- build priorities etc.
- Follow-up and keep customers informed regarding any delays, new delivery dates etc.
- Monitor and analyse market trends.
- Prepare sales forecast and compile O.E. Sales, General Sales, and Department budgets.
- Receive and co-ordinate the processing of O.E. Releases.
- Ensure regular feedback to customers re-changes to releases, penalty costs, mode of transport, component shortages, etc.
- Conduct analyses of release data and advise management of build trends, which may affect production schedules.
- Maintenance of discipline and morale, allocation of duties, training, and development of subordinates to ensure the highest degree of efficiency and personal growth.
- Negotiate prices with customers.
- Maintain customer pricing as per Agreements i.e., ROE, Economic and Productivity adjustments.
- Compile and present department statistics in monthly Exec report/meeting.
- Compile quarterly Board report on department statistics.
- Access and complete activities on customer portals.
- To ensure that all activities within my area of responsibilities are performed in compliance with the Company Policies and Procedures, and legislation with specific emphasis on Health, Safety, and Environmental aspect.
- Any other tasks or duties as assigned by Management from time to time.
- Matric essential.
- B-Tech Qualification in Mechanical, Electrical or similar qualification.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in Automotive Component Manufacturing sector dealing directly with OEM Purchasing Departments (Essential).
- Computer literate.
- Open to SA citizens with a clear criminal and credit history.
- Valid unendorsed Drivers License is essential, with own vehicle (preferred)
- Must possess an ownership mentality and a willingness to take responsibility for tasks through to completion.
- Attention to detail, goal orientated and a desire to achieve your objectives.
- Highly organised, good at multi-tasking and able to deal with people at all levels.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail essential.
- Ability to operate under considerable pressure and frequent change.
- This is a high-profile management position in which the incumbent is required to act as an Ambassador for the Company and is therefore required to always be presentable and able to communicate effectively at all levels and project a favorable company image.
- A high degree of integrity is essential in view of the constant exposure to confidential information/material.

Remuneration: Market related basic + benefits and guaranteed 13th cheque.
