Duties & Responsibilities:
- Lead, direct and develop the respective sales organisation in terms of its structure, people and performance to achieve maximum efficiency and effectiveness (including personal feedback & development).
- Coach team members on sales techniques, procedures and standards that will help them achieve their sales targets.
- Translate local business plans into sales plans, activities, and campaigns and manage the day-to-day activities of a sales team (in order to implement the organizations overall sales strategy) for an assigned geography, channel, and/or customers.
- Prepare sales forecasts and budgets; monitor sales volume, revenues, and costs against forecasts to identify problem/opportunities areas and adapt procedures
- Allocate resources according to up-to-date customer categorization to improve the overall performance of the sales team.
- Negotiate sales with existing and new customers who are of strategic importance to the organization.
- Contribute to the development of sales, customer retention, advertising, pricing, and distribution plans/strategies for area of responsibility
- Responsible for customer profitability, generate knowledge on market development/customer needs and competitor activities and distribute to internal stakeholders
- Must have matric and tertiary qualification in Sales, Sales & Marketing or relevant Clinical field
- Minimum of 3 years successful Key Account Management / Sales Management experience in medical device industry
- Experience in blended selling, clinical sales and coaching for performance
- Government Hospital Procurement and Tender experience
- Have broad therapeutic knowledge of laparoscopic and endo mechanical stapling as well as knowledge in energy based devices.
- Excellent computer skills - Microsoft package experience is essential with CRM and Power BI knowledge
- Available to travel domestically extensively, and have valid RSA Drivers License
- Adaptable to change, motivated and able to work independently to execute priorities
- Must be an excellent communicator (written, verbal and listening);
- Excellent business acumen and engage in a professional manner with internal and external stakeholders
- Key relationships and knowledge of key stakeholders in the Hospital arena (Private & Government)
- Must be highly self-motivated and capable of leading a team and deliver stretched targets.
- Minimum 3 years sales management in medical device theatre based selling.
