Job Objective
To drive sales growth, optimize market share, and achieve revenue targets by leading a high-performing sales and merchandising team. This role ensures sustainable business growth through strategy implementation, strong customer relationships, and effective cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- To optimize profitability and ensure financial transparency for better decision-making.
- Track and manage sales expenses to prevent budget overruns.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement efficiency improvements.
- Review processes and reports to inform strategic planning.
- Conducting thorough market research, collaborate on strategy development, and adapt plans to market changes
- Conducting comprehensive market research and adapting strategies to changing market dynamics, contribute to achieving a competitive edge and maximising revenue.
- Engaging in in-depth market analysis, collaborate with cross-functional teams to formulate effective sales strategies, and remain agile to adjust plans in response to evolving market conditions.
- Implementation of strategy with 3 rd party service providers and internal sales structure.
- Providing guidance, encourage collaboration, and offer support to ensure cohesive team progress.
- Providing effective leadership and teamwork, foster an environment of collaboration and support, leading to improved team performance and successful attainment of business goals.
- Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing sales and merchandising team.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning
- Developing personalised interactions with customers, address their needs with tailored solutions, and consistently gather feedback to identify areas for improvement and strengthen relationships.
- Develop strong relationships with key retailers, wholesalers, and distributors.
- Regularly review customer engagement data to enhance service and support.
- Assisting in research initiatives, gather data, and present findings for informed decision-making.
- Contributing to research efforts, data collection, and presentation of findings, facilitate informed decision-making and help identify emerging opportunities in the market.
- Collaborating with market research teams, assist in data collection, conduct analysis, and present actionable insights that guide strategic decision-making.
- Gathering sales data, collaborate with sales and marketing teams, identify patterns, and develop data-driven strategies to improve sales performance.
- Matric/ Grade 12
- Business management and or sales qualification
- Knowledge of the region, and experience working with retailers and wholesalers in the region.
- Conflict resolution and negotiation principles Digital sales tools, CRM, and BI-driven analytics
- At least 5 years of experience in FMCG sales, with a proven track record of achieving sales targets.
- 3 - 5 Years Experience in managing sales and driving team performance
