Key Responsibilities
- The ability to influence and sell predetermined sales solutions to targeted customers.
- Execute the sales plan for allocated customers, particularly bigger retail outlets and mini-markets.
- Ensure achievement of monthly targets, objectives and display targets.
- Excellent execution of business strategic drivers.
- Conduct negotiations with the customers for display and shelf space
- Participate in weekly and monthly meetings with the team to keep track of progress on allocated targets.
- Build and maintain customer relationships and ensure service levels are excellent.
- Ensure the correct standard of merchandising is executed correctly in all stores via Block merchandising/Cross merchandising/Format merchandising/Vertical merchandising etc.
- Ensure the recommended pricing is in line with strategy and the relevant price labels are on shelf.
- Correct Stock rotation - FIFO Principals - (First In First Out).
- Correct category Planogram application in all stores.
- Sales out focus by driving visibility through building of gondola ends, side stacks, power wings, display units, dump bins etc.
- Maintaining adequate stock levels - the correct stock pressure levels on shelf and for displays to ensure no out of stocks in store occurs.
- Facilitating orders for predefined customers.
- Category maintenance.
- Securing and maintaining contestable space or fair share of shelf.
- Manage damages and returns.
- Stock counts.
- Provide on-going market intelligence to management as predetermined by the business needs from time to time assist in:
- Ad Hoc Promotional Events
- Representative territory coverage
- Take responsibility for company resources and ensure effective utilisation to maximise and enable outputs.
- Take responsibility for self-development through self-study, identification of learning opportunities.
- Completed Matric or equivalent, accredited by SAQA.
- Diploma or Degree in Business Commerce or Marketing.
- 3 - 5 years' experience in a Sales Representative role.
- 3 - 5 years' experience in the Sales & Merchandising environment.
- Experience dealing with Independent Retail and Wholesale Accounts within FMCG environment.
- Highly motivated and responsible, with the ability to work with minimum supervision.
- The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong negotiation skills and business acumen.
- Valid driver's licence.
- Own vehicle will be preferable.
