Sales Representative (IT Support, cabling, electronic repair)

Role objective: The purpose of this role is the responsibility of the development and performance of all sales and business development activities in the assigned market. The role is further required to expand the organisation’s local and national footprint and enhance all customer retention, maintenance and growth opportunities.

Primary job functions:

  • Develops a business plan and strategy for the assigned market that will ensure the attainment of the organisation’s sales goals and profitability.
  • Takes responsibility for the development of the AEs through coaching and performance management.
  • Prepares sales leads prospects action plans for both team and individuals.
  • Effectively builds and maintains relationships with prospects.
  • Promotes the organisation’s brand with a view to converting prospects into new clients.
  • Executes action plans for new market penetration.
  • Monitors and analyses team and individual performance metrics.
  • Assists with the creation and implementation of new marketing initiatives when required.
  • Provides timely, accurate and competitive pricing on all completed prospect applications submitted for pricing and approval.
  • Maintains accurate records of all sales related activities for individual and team.
  • Creates and conducts proposal presentations and RFP responses.
  • Assists AEs in preparation of proposals and presentations.
  • Manages budget guidelines and controls expenses.
  • Recruits, assesses and hires AEs as per the agreed staffing plan.
  • Creates and supplies quotations to clients subject to approval by senior management.
  • Manages client liaison and follow-ups telephonically, in writing and face to face.
  • Ensures up to date industry and market knowledge as well as own knowledge of internal products and processes.
  • Constantly seeks out revenue generating opportunities through growing own networks and contacts in the assigned markets.
  • Administers the client information and data timeously and accurately to support the integrity of the client database.
  • Participates in the development of operational goals and objectives for the IT Support Division.
  • Recommends and implements methods and procedures that will enhance operational efficiencies.
  • Provides hands on service in the field when required in terms of servicing and maintaining electronic equipment.

Essential role requirements:

  • MatricOwn reliable motor vehicle transport
  • Valid unendorsed driver’s licenceComputer Literacy – MS Office – Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Experience with enterprise software solutions and large, complex organisations
  • Extensive experience in all aspects of Supplier Relationship Management
  • Strong understanding of customer relationship management and market dynamics
  • Proven sales ability, a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in B2B sales
  • Solid experience in the performance management of a sales team
  • Financial and accounting acumen in managing expenses, budgets etc.
  • Strong communicator with a natural flair and ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
