Key Responsibilities:
To drive increased market penetration of a specified portfolio of products in the relevant territory, by developing, maintaining and improving customer relationships, offering technical / clinical training and solutions to meet the customers and users needs, excellent after sales service and recovery.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Marketing Manager and National Sales Manager to identify customer requirements, potential support and a sales plan for the territory.
- Work with the Marketing Manager & National Sales Manager to implement tactical plans to drive increased use of products.
- Achieve sales targets (budget) for the territory;
- Follow up on sales leads and address customer queries
- Work with sales colleagues to optimise growth of by sharing opportunities for growth and providing support as needed.
- Ensure that orders received are placed immediately
- Ensure invoicing and delivery is commissioned as per company procedures
- Develop positive relationships with end users and customers building firm foundation for ongoing business
- Offer professional and technical advice to solve customer technology / medical device requirements and offer solutions promoting the brand.
- Provide in-service training creating lasting and correct usage of the medical devices used
- Obtain approval for access through the relevant channels within the hospital groups / clinical facility prior to engagement with customers / users/ support personnel
- Attend workshop/ congresses when taking place in the designated area.
- Assist with coordination of administrative / logistics arrangements when required
- Establish and maintain an up-to-date database of customer information as per the Company requirements on SharePoint
- Actively work to close gaps & drive sales growth through optimizing sales resources by customer/product opportunity.
- Identify tender opportunities & new initiatives and work with Marketing Manager & the National Sales Manager to optimise the outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Suitable life sciences tertiary qualification (preferred)
- Minimum of 1 year in sales / marketing in the medical device sector
- Knowledge of the medical device industry, hospital /clinical practice environment, relevant procedures, reimbursement /funding issues.
- Theatre Based Sales Experience Essential
- Professional and effective communicator and sales person with ability to present effectively to a variety of audiences
- Agile at building and utilising strong relationships and networks effectively, both internally and with key external stakeholders (e.g. scrub sister; pharmacy manager; stock controller; theatre matron, KOLs), earning their trust and respect
- Able to manage complexity and working with multiple personnel
- Computer literate- MS Office programs
- Fluent in English and Afrikaans
- Clear communicator and someone who helps to find solutions;
- Strong interpersonal skills;
- Flexible and adaptable.
