Vacant Position: Retail Sales Representative (FMCG): Permanent
Area: HO (Cornubia- North Suburbs KZN)
Salary: Negotiable depending on experience
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Present and sell company products and services to existing database as well as new potential clients and identify sales prospects.
- Write up of sales contracts.
- Schedule appointments and visit existing customers to review needs and determine other opportunities.
- Provide product quotes as required and keep up to date on new products, services, procedures and tools by attending training and departmental meetings
- Establish and maintain current client- and potential client relationships.
- Manage account services through quality checks.
- Identify and resolve client concerns.
- Continuously update customers regarding product changes / modifications and control sales price requests
- Prepare a variety of status reports, including visits, activities, proposals, new business, volumes, etc
- Follow up with customers re payment for products and services and ensure that the clients are still satisfied
- Management of sales initiatives, maintaining and measuring individual targets and goals
- Maintain integrity of sales systems and procedures
- Ensure integrity of sales pricing structure
- Promote Atlantic Oil as a business
- Design and implementation of sales initiatives and consultations with suppliers for deals
- Report and evaluate at regular intervals - sales volume, margin and cost
- Periodic meetings with management
- Maintaining the integrity of the company’s financial systems especially as far as debt management is concerned and working with debtors department to ensure collections are on track and customers are well managed and controlled in terms of credit limits and payment terms.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in the Fuel Industry (Advantageous)
- A relevant tertiary qualification is an advantage (preferably in Sales)
- Applicant must reside in Durban or the surrounding areas
- Experience in Customer service, employees, within the service station/retail industry
- The applicant needs to exercise sound judgement, with a high sense of integrity
- The applicant should be able to operate at a strategic level with an ability to function independently as well as part of a team
- The applicant should be ambitious, target orientated - with a results driven approach
- Excellent communication skills - individual must be well spoken and confident
- Flexibility to adapt to changing environments and IT systems
- Computer literacy (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) – working knowledge of forecourt systems would be an advantage
- Product knowledge will be an advantage (Petroleum industry)
- Proven decision making and problem solving skills are required
- The ability to work under pressure is a definite requirement
- Willingness to travel extensively
- Valid Driver’s license essential
