SCADA Technician - South Africa (Walmer Downs, Eastern Cape, ZA)

Regional Support is responsible for overviewing, implementing and managing SCADA systems. The department collaborates with internal stakeholders and Vestas clients within Vestas MED. It's part of the Regional Service Department; it provides state-of-the-art leading technology in monitoring, control and data acquisition systems for the wind technology which covers and provides any SCADA related support to the Construction and Service Departments.

Resnposnibilities

Level 1 support for SCADA and IT systems in windfarms

Platform troubleshooting, server hardware and software

Provide remote support to service technicians in on site operations

Provide and keep updated internal ticketing tools

Technical Documentation

Programming PLC. (Rockwell)

Qualifications

Technical education in IT , Electronics or similar

Experience in server operating systems, Linux and SQL servers

Experience in VMware

Knowledge and experience of networking and their configuration.

PLC programing and communication protocols (IEC, 104, IEC101, MODBUS, DNP, OPC) is a plus

Comprehensive English skills, both verbal and written

Valid driver's license
