Our client, CAPRISA is an award-winning research Centre focusing on HIV, TB and Covid-19 with headquarters at the Nelson Mandela School of Medicine campus in Durban, South Africa. It is a UNAIDS Collaborating Centre for HIV Research and Policy and hosts a DSI-NRF Centre of Excellence in HIV Prevention and a SAMRC HIV-TB Research Unit.
CAPRISA is seeking an experienced qualified PhD Research Associate to work with executives and senior scientists, to support their research activities, including, but not limited to the following:
- Drafting and editing of scientific documents.
- Compiling grant applications, protocols, reports and presentations.
Qualifications and experience:
- PhD in science (Preference will be given to candidates with and Epidemiology background).
- A minimum of 3 years research experience.
- Excellent scientific writing skills.
- Must have published at least 5 journal articles (Peer reviewed).
- In-depth understanding of the scientific method.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Endnote and PowerPoint).
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Draft and support preparation of scientific reports and documents.
- Managing submissions of scientific reports.
- Preparing tables and graphs of research data.
- Provide research and administrative support as directed.

Period: Two-year fixed term contract (renewable)
