The Opportunity
We are on the lookout for a driven Operations Manager to take operational leadership of our steel frame housing/modular housing division, based in Lae, Papua New Guinea. This division handles steel-framed construction projects ranging from small huts to 4-bedroom houses, catering to both local and global clientele.

Reporting to the General Manager, this position requires strategic oversight, innovation, and meticulous management.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Directing daily operations and ensuring streamlined task management, while always keeping the team aligned with overarching company and client objectives.
• Establishing rapport with potential clients, attending industry events, and overseeing client proposal preparations.
• Investigating new construction techniques for cost-efficiency and unifying construction processes across the PNG brand.
• Recruiting and nurturing a skilled workforce, emphasizing ongoing professional development and fostering a culture of continuous learning and teamwork.
• Drafting and refining our business plan with updated industry insights, and setting and achieving growth milestones.
• Overseeing the financial components of our housing and construction operations.
• Working in tandem with Lae/POM counterparts to harmonize designs and construction methodologies, aiming for a consistent approach across PNG.
• Developing effective programs with key personnel to adhere to client deadlines and expectations.

About You
Our ideal candidate is a seasoned professional in the steel-framed construction or related industry, boasting a minimum of 5 years of managerial/supervisory experience, along with a relevant qualification in Construction, Engineering, or a steel-related trade.
Some key qualifications include:

• Solid knowledge and experience with a wide range of steel-framed housing construction/solutions
• Skill in CAD and drafting, turning ideas into blueprints, ready to be brought to life by our dedicated team
• Strong ability for effective communication with everyone, fostering a collaborative, respectful, and high-performance work environment

Candidates with strong CAD and drafting experience, but only has wood-frame construction background, are also welcome to apply!
