THE FOLLOWING VACANCY EXISTS IN OUR FLEET DEPARTMENT

(DECK OFFICER/BOSUN- FISHING)

AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY: Deck & Bridge of a Trawler

LOCATION: Fishing vessel Trawling

REPORTS TO: Skipper

Job Purpose

• Monitor and assist with bridge watchkeeping and administration.
• To ensure safe Deck operation, maintenance of all fishing and rigging gear.

Job Dimension

• Assist as an officer for watch keeping.
• Ensure that the vessel adhere to SAMSA & HACCP standards.
• Assist with stock control for fishing gear, rigging blocks and consumables.

Knowledge Required

• In possession of a SAMSA Deck officer COC
• Medically fit to work at sea (no limitations)
• Proof of Seafarer Medical Certificate (valid or expired)

• Interpersonal skills
• Good Communication skills
• Computer literacy
• Sound management skills
• Working under pressure
• Function independently and as a team
