The Security Analyst will assist the Information Security Officer to ensure that the companies security landscape is protected, monitored and reported in a daily basis. The Security Analyst will ensure that the companies security systems and software are operating correctly, monitored and analysed across all jurisdictions ensuring that all information security incidents are corrected.
The Security Analyst will be expected to:
• Implement security designs and approaches to resolve vulnerabilities, mitigate risks, and recommend security changes to system or system components as needed.
• Implement and support security monitoring tools, network security systems, system and application vulnerability scanning
• Assist with the implementation of technology and controls in order to protect the company data
• Verify and update security documentation reflecting the application/system security design features.
• Perform security reviews and identify security gaps in security architecture, resulting in recommendations for the inclusion into the risk mitigation strategy.
• Perform information assurance (IA) testing of developed applications and/or systems to identify security vulnerabilities such as SQL injection or cross-site scripting
• Assists as the security consultant on firm wide projects
• Implementation, support and maintenance of DLP, IDS, IPS and SIEM solutions
The successful candidate will meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience
• Degree or higher in Computer Science Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent qualification;
• 3–5 years Information Security experience (ideally in Financial industries or Consulting);
• SSCP and/or Security + and/or CEH (essential to have or more of these);
• Good understanding of industry trends and IT best practices such as ITIL, ISO 27001,Cobit, SABSA (desirable);
• Excellent verbal/written communication skills (including collaboration skills) at all levels (essential);
• Mentorship.
Skills
• Knowledge of network security architecture concepts, including topology, protocols, components, and principles (e.g., application of defense-in-depth);
• Knowledge of cryptography and cryptographic key management concepts;
• Firewall Management;
• Knowledge of cyber threats and vulnerabilities;
• Flexible, energetic, trustworthy, organized and self disciplined;
• Knowledge of Personally Identifiable Information (PII) data security standards;
• Excellent problem solving skills.
