Academics Ltd are currently working with a lovely SEN school in East Birmingham that provides for children between the ages of 4-11 years that have been diagnosed with wide ranging educational and social needs, such as ASD, MLD and SLD. This school prides itself on ensuring all children reach their full potential through high standards of teaching and learning.
Your role would be to work alongside the class teacher, helping them to meet the differing needs of the children in the classroom. A flexible approach to the role is vital as you will need to support the classroom as a whole, as well as providing support to students individually when needed. You will need good interpersonal skills as you will be the first point of call for children in your care and be expected to liaise with teaching staff and parents/guardians to ensure the individual needs of the pupils are being met.
This is a temporary position offered through our agency, and the successful candidate will be subject to a DBS check and suitable references.

- A Quaification in SEN Teaching/awareness, Supporting Teaching and Learning or Psychology would be advantageous
- Personal/Professional experience with children and/or young people is desirable but not essential
- A caring individual with energy, drive and enthusiasm.
- Ability to work as part of team, alongside teaching and support staff
- Willing to support a pupil with personal care where necessary.
- Able to use their initiative to support learning.
- DBS on the update service or willing to get one.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
