Job Description

This role administrates the general ledger account reconciliation process as well as maintains accounting records and accountable for intercompany management. The incumbent is individually accountable for achieving results through own efforts.

Account Processing

• Balancing and Reconciling of Mass Foundation Cluster control accounts (Accurate and offline)
• Investigation of open items in the control accounts
• Processing of relevant accounting entries to clear open entries on the control accounts.
• Peer review of reconciliations on Accurate and Excel
• Handling of general account queries with relevant stakeholders
• Investigate, correct and report on entries in the general ledger
• Assist Audit teams with audits
• Preparation of accurate and complete manual payments

Accounting Records

• Maintains records of transactions made by the business unit
• Upload of branch manual journals to Oracle and preparation of certain manual journals for review
• Controls, corrects and reports on accounting links to the ledger
• Administers maintenance on the ledger (accounts, cost centres, etc.).

Requirements

• Matric
• Good numeric skills
• 3-5 years work experience
• Exposure to reconciliation of General Ledger Accounts (essential)
• Bcom/Finance degree would be advantageous
• Working knowledge of Oracle Financials (advantageous)
• Accurate reconciliations tool knowledge (advantageous)
• Vantage (PAS) knowledge (advantageous)
