Senior Accountant

What will you do?

A position for a Reinsurance Financial Accountant exists in Risk Services, based in Tygerpark, Bellville.

What will make you successful in this role?

To execute all financial aspects of inwards reinsurance, including the accounting of reinsurance transactions and preparing of financial reports.

Principle Accountabilities Include

• Manage accounting for all underwriting and other financial transactions relating to Santam Reinsurance in terms of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
• Compilation of financial reports relating to Santam Reinsurance.
• Manage financial accounting queries from underwriters and the rest of the business.
• Provide accounting support and guidance to the business and rest of the Santam Re Finance team.
• Manage and improve current procedures and controls for financial and regulatory reporting for reinsurance
• Manage regulatory reporting for reinsurance in terms of FSB and SARB requirements.
• Manage ad hoc Santam Reinsurance Financial Projects.
• Manage issues identified and drive resolution.
• Building and maintaining mutually beneficial relationships with the various stakeholders.
• Manage tight monthly deadlines critical to overall Group Reporting timetable.

Qualifications And Experience

• Qualified accountant (CIMA/SAIPA/CA)
• 3-4 years experience in a financial role
