Role Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accountant to support the integrity of our financial reporting. As an Accountant at SAIIA, you will be responsible for developing a deep understanding of project and programme budgets, monitoring and reporting on programme financial performance, and ensuring compliance with donor and organisational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly donor reports and supporting schedules, as well as monthly and annual reconciliations of expenditure for donor reports.
- Check and approve payment requisitions for projects.
- Effectively manage bank and cash accounts.
- Assist programme officers with donor reporting and reconciling Pastel reports.
- Ensure that financial reports are accurate, reliable, and delivered on time.
- Support financial aspects of programme audits and monitor compliance with audit requirements and recommendations.
- Ensure compliance with legislation and international accounting best practises and standards.
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in accounting or financial management.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in financial management and administration.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including complex financial formulae.
- Experience with the PASTEL accounting system.
- Ability to establish positive relationships with donors, project teams, and other stakeholders across the organisation.
- Excellent communication and written English skills.
- Strong planning and organisational abilities.
- Flexible approach to work and willingness to contribute to the success of the team.
- Demonstrated experience in preparing monthly management and donor reports to deadlines and required standards.

Salary
Salary band based on experience: R per annum.
