Barber job duties include providing customers with hair maintenance services including shaping, cutting, trimming and tapping hair, using combs, clippers, scissors and blow out gun. Barbers work on mens hair, although they should be able to work on females hair too. Barbers and hair stylists do their work in beauty salons or barbershops.
DUTIES
Applying lather, shaving beard and hair contour on the neck and temple using a razor. Performing other tonsorial services, like applying lotions or hairdressing, dyeing, singeing, shampooing or styling hair, massaging neck, face or scalp. Selling and advising on products. Styling and colouring hair using equipment such as curling, rollers, colour treatments and straightening irons. Peforming various hair related processes such as frosting, highlighting or streaking hair. Keeping the salon area clean and ensuring that the working tools are sterile and always in good working condition. Using gel, lotion and powder to groom customers. Taking care of day to day activities. Keep inventories of shop equipment and supplies. Making customer appointments.
