Senior Business Analyst
Job Purpose
To lead the Business Analyst (BA) team in delivering operational excellence and productivity by ensuring that it is a value-adding center servicing all stakeholders. You will be responsible for managing the BA Team Leads and indirectly the BAs reporting to the Team Leads, coordinating the functions that the team is responsible for.
You will define the strategic direction of the team in line with the overall Nedbank and cluster strategies as well as the benefits for the team and ensure that these are tracked and measured against the applicable strategic drivers.
Additionally, you will be responsible for conducting both qualitative and quantitative research and analysis to identify client problems or constraints and recommend solutions in line with our business strategy. You will then drive these solutions to completion, ensuring that the focus is on delivery and output that resolves and improves client problems or constraints.
Job Responsibilities
- Play a leadership role within the assigned area of work project team or squad to ensure delivery of client centred solutions that are delivered in time and within agreed quality through giving clear definitions of the required capability/structure/concept, the intended value to the client as well as the requirements to deliver it backed up with both qualitative and quantitative analysis.
- Apply incremental delivery principles, drive the delivery of business value, communicate progress, elicit feedback and enable stakeholder reviews for validation in the process.
- Manage engagements with executive stakeholders to effectively communicate both upstream and downstream requirements and delivery.
- Identify and manage business activities such as operating model, training, change management, communications, system updates, data requirements and reports, KPIs, and build business cases.
- Facilitate problem solving on a day-to-day basis as required, working closely with development on implementation challenges.
- Coach team members and help with their development/desired outcomes as required.
- Deliver strategic results through team by translating strategy into operational and project plans and budgets, managing resources, enabling execution, and achieving business strategy and associated metrics.
- Optimize value add by identifying and managing risk.
- Ensure business area compliance with standards, policy, and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure management of function by allocating work, organizing department, driving productivity improvement, and smoothing day-to-day operations.
- Solve problems through quality and timely decisions, correcting actions, and improving team results.
- Ensure direct reports understand and support Nedbanks vision, values, and strategy.
- Stay abreast of developments in the field of expertise, ensuring personal and professional growth.
- 10 years working experience various analysis roles
- Min 2 - 3 years' people management experience.
- 3-5 years experience in a complex problem-solving environment
- BCom Informatics / B.Sc. Computer Science (Post-graduate) including SMP/ Manager of manager or equivalent.
- SAFe 4 Agile Certification preferred.
- Agile Product Owner would be an advantage.
