Job Description
Old Mutual Insure is looking for a forward-thinking Senior Communications Manager in Brand and Marketing space . The role will work closely with the segment, country communications managers and MC Centre Managers to deliver on objectives. This role will provide thought leadership, stimulate innovative thinking and distil clear communication strategies from complexity in support of the consolidated OMI Marketing Strategy and Plan.
You Would :
- The role describes the delivery within the Communications Centre of Excellence and can contribute to either internal communications or media communications functional areas.
- Designs and leads the development of a communications and/or reputation management strategy that understands and pro-actively delivers initiatives to help deliver the overall Business and Marketing strategy and Brand promise.
- Designs, manages and delivers a process where all key / agreed communications and/or reputation management plans are directed from the CoE delivering to the necessary business strategy, marketing and brand requirements.
- Ensures that all communication is developed in alignment with the integrated OMI communications strategy.
- Influences and engages with media stakeholders on OMI's opinions/views/positions on issues providing context and content as needed.
- Ensures that OMI's reputation risk is protected and positively represented in the media and public space.
- Ensures that the communication functions maintain leading edge, relevant and innovative practices keeping up to date with changes in the finance and communication industries.
- Develops, co-ordinates and ensures overall OMI communication governance. This includes overall architecture, metrics and communication rules.
- Develops, co-ordinates and ensures disciplined delivery of an annual communication activity calendar that spans all OMEM segments and countries.
- Identifies and proactively engages with key internal and external stakeholders needed to deliver on mandate.
- Delivers or contributes to the overarching employee communications strategy that aims to make every employee a brand advocate.
- Delivers or contributes to the media strategy that confidently builds relationships with the media and aims to make them brand advocates.
- Bachelor's degree in public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or related field of study preferred.
- 5 - 10 years experience in a similar role.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing strategic communication plans.
- Knowledge of media/communications channels across multiple touch points, including social media.
