Job Description
The Senior Contracts Specialist will be primarily responsible for strategic sourcing initiatives within OMSA IT and where relevant within the broader OM Group context. The incumbent is responsible for applying the principles, disciplines and the procedures required to govern the relationships and issues resulting from the agreements between Old Mutual and IT Services Providers.
Consulting
- Provides expert advice and solutions related to the negotiation and execution of complex sourcing and contract initiatives.
- Provides guidance re IT sourcing related services, existing and "new" OM initiatives.
- Enabling IT Service Delivery Management through sourcing and contracting processes.
- Concludes contracts and SLA's for the procurement of IT products and services from suppliers.
- Develops the principles, disciplines and procedures required to govern the contractual relationships and issues resulting from agreements between OM and suppliers.
- Establishes the necessary control systems and structures to ensure suppliers provide the services contracted for.
- Provides input for the financial aspects re IT Contracts e.g., invoice verification, commercial structure, cost allocation, recovery and savings models.
- Effectively and efficiently manages all assigned sourcing and contract initiatives end-to-end, including material outsource engagements.
- Supports the development, implementation and management of the relevant procurement and outsourcing policies and standards.

- Generates a demand for IT Sourcing services.
- Assists in the evaluation and selection of appropriate suppliers as part of the sourcing life cycle.
- Collaborates with Project Managers and various business, IT and Digital SMEs throughout the sourcing delivery process of projects.
- Manages assigned strategic supplier alliances.
- Participates in management boards for OMSA sourcing projects.
- Assists with the formulation and implementation of the OM IT Sourcing Strategy.
- Performs research to stay on top of the sourcing trends.
- Provides latest and best practice sourcing management capability for OMSA as required.
- Selects appropriate suppliers to meet sourcing strategies in conjunction with business units.
- Transfers business requirements into IT sourcing strategies.
- Understands OMSA business requirements.
- Engages experts, where appropriate, during the negotiation lifecycle and manages these parties and the processes (Legal, HR, Finance, IT Architecture, Communication etc.).
- Maintains and upkeeps own and contract management system records / information collected and created under the contract throughout the contract life cycle
- Ensuring audit readiness of sourcing and contracting portfolio
- Manages the process to reach appropriate agreement between OMSA and Suppliers for required products and services.
- Negotiates the terms and conditions of a contract that are agreeable to the parties involved (i.e. draft comprehensive and binding contracts for the term of the contract and potentially beyond).
- Obtains agreement for chargeback models with business units.
- Regulates the use of contracts, including restricting and administering its use, disclosure or disposition.

- Highlights and mitigates sourcing and contract related risks
Matric, preference for tertiary (Commerce, IT or Legal) with at least 5 years relevant IT/contracts experience.
