Duties & Responsibilities
Design Verification:
Lead and perform rigorous design verification activities to ensure that products meet engineering specifications, safety standards, and performance requirements.
Develop and execute comprehensive testing plans, including simulation, modeling, and physical testing to validate product designs.
Analyze test data, identify potential design flaws, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement necessary improvements.
Standards Implementation
Stay up-to-date with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations applicable to our products.
Interpret and apply relevant standards to product designs, ensuring compliance and adherence throughout the development process.
Work closely with design teams to incorporate necessary changes and updates to meet standards requirements.
R&D Development
Provide technical insights, innovative ideas, and engineering solutions to enhance product performance, reliability, and efficiency.
Participate in brainstorming sessions, design reviews, and feasibility studies to contribute to the development of cutting-edge products.
Project Management
Take ownership of projects from conception to completion, ensuring milestones, deadlines, and budgets are met. Track progress, and proactively address potential roadblocks.
Communicate project status, risks, and mitigation strategies to the engineering manager and stakeholders.
Detailed Review And Analysis
Conduct in-depth reviews of engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation to identify potential issues and discrepancies. Provide expert analysis and recommendations to optimize designs, enhance manufacturability, and improve product quality.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including design engineers, quality assurance, manufacturing, and external partners to ensure seamless integration of design, testing, and production processes.

Interdepartmental Requirements Required For This Position
Reporting to Engineering Manager:
Provide regular updates to the Engineering Manager regarding project progress, challenges, and resource needs.
Collaborate with the Engineering Manager to align projects with departmental goals and strategic initiatives.
Seek guidance and support from the Engineering Manager for technical and managerial decisions.
Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC)
Work with the QA/QC team to develop testing protocols and procedures that align with industry standards and internal quality guidelines.
Share insights from design verification and testing to drive improvements in quality control processes.
Collaborate on root cause analyses and corrective actions for any identified design or manufacturing issues.
Manufacturing And Production
Engage with the manufacturing team to ensure that the design is optimized for efficient production processes while maintaining design integrity.
Collaborate on the selection of materials, manufacturing techniques, and assembly processes that meet engineering standards and product requirements.
Address any design-related challenges that may arise during production.
Project Management Office (PMO)
Work closely with the Engineering Manager and the PMO to develop project plans, timelines, and budgets aligned with organizational goals.
Provide regular project updates, including milestones, progress, and potential risks.
Collaborate on resource allocation and prioritization of projects.
Supply Chain And Procurement
Collaborate with the supply chain team to ensure that sourced components and materials meet required standards and specifications.
Provide technical input on supplier selection, component testing, and quality assurance processes.
Address technical queries from suppliers and support negotiations if design changes are required.
Legal And Intellectual Property (IP) Departments
Engage with the legal team and Engineering Manager to ensure that designs, innovations, and intellectual property are adequately protected through patents and copyrights.
Collaborate on IP-related documentation, disclosures, and filings.
Regulatory And Compliance Teams
Coordinate with regulatory and compliance teams to ensure that products adhere to relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations.
Provide technical information and documentation required for certifications and regulatory approvals.
Training And Development
Collaborate with training departments to develop and deliver workshops or training sessions related to design verification, standards implementation, and best practices.
Contribute technical expertise to the development of training materials.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Engage in regular cross-functional meetings to share updates, insights, and progress on projects.
Address questions, concerns, and technical inquiries from other departments to ensure a unified understanding of project status and requirements.
Required Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- 15+ years of experience in mechanical engineering with a focus on design verification, standards implementation, R&D, and project management.
- In-depth knowledge of industry standards and regulations relevant to mechanical systems and products.
- Proficiency in engineering software and tools for simulation, modeling, and analysis.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective cross-team collaboration.
- Proven track record of successfully managing projects from concept to completion.
