Senior Graphic Designer

A Senior Graphic Designer is the Netcare Group brand custodian and is responsible for ensuring that all creative output is in line with the Netcare branding requirements. The incumbent is further responsible for the creative concept, creative design, and the creative execution of both offline and digital collateral, in accordance with Netcare Group and business unit strategy.

The Senior Graphic Designer is also responsible for mentoring more junior members of the team while introducing new and innovative methods of creative execution to enhance effective performance and delivery amongst team members.

Requirements:
  • A Bachelors Degree or Advanced Diploma in graphic design.
  • 10+ years of related industry experience in an agency or corporate setting creating integrated content across all marketing channels from digital, social media, paid media, mobile, offline and print.
  • Competence across all fields of marketing, with a strong digital focus.
  • The ability to storyboard or translate ideas to designers and others, influencing external and internal stakeholders.
  • A strong working knowledge of online and offline design.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Typical Activities Include:
  • Oversee all design projects, from conception to delivery.
  • Design original pieces, including illustrations and infographics.
  • Refine images, fonts and layouts using graphic design software.
  • Apply typography techniques.
  • Generate new ideas to portray concepts and advertise products/services.
  • Increase user friendliness in digital products.
  • Maintain brand consistency throughout marketing projects and business units.
  • Liaise with marketing and design teams to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Stay up to date with industry developments and tools.
  • Study design briefs and determine requirements.
  • Crafting creative strategy and execution.
  • Schedule projects and define budget constraints.
  • Prepare rough drafts and present ideas.
  • Ensure final graphics and layouts are visually appealing and on-brand.
  • Create visual solutions to meet the corporate communication needs of the Netcare Group by using a mix of creative skills and commercial awareness.
  • Conduct creative research on projects.
Management:
  • Support the Group Head of Design: Mentor and supervise the creative team while challenging and introducing new and innovative methods of creative execution.
  • Oversee teams of designers, illustrators, photographers, videographers, production staff, and writers to take concepts from draft to completion, and through to publishing or promotion.
  • Overseeing the marketing department's individual projects.
  • Manage the creative team to drive high performance and culture.
Compliance:
  • Drive continuous compliance to organisational policies, practices and procedures in order to ensure compliance with relevant legislations and statutory regulations.

  • Performance Development: The ability to evaluate and develop different levels of capacity within a team to achieve set objectives.
Salary: R46 000 CTC

Location: Sandton, Johannesburg (on-site)
