Job Description

OMAI is seeking an exceptionally motivated, driven, and innovative Senior Human Capital Business Partner to form part of the central Human Capital function. The incumbent will have the AIIM business as their primary internal client and will work closely with the AIIM executive committee team.

In collaboration with the Human Capital Executive (HCE) and the central OMAI Human Capital team, responsibilities include:
  • Serving as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to the AIIM business, collaborating to develop and implement HC initiatives that drive business results.
  • Defining and implementing the People Plan for the AIIM Business Unit in alignment with the AIIM Business Strategy and OMAI People Strategy
  • Providing end to end human capital support to the AIIM teams based in South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria, and Cte dIvoire.
  • Engaging with external and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery of operational human capital functions, including payroll services for all countries previously mentioned.
  • Managing the implementation of the AIIM Talent and Learning and development Strategies.
  • Identifying and driving culture initiatives to promote employee engagement and retention efforts at all levels.
  • Implementing and overseeing effective performance management and providing guidance on employee development and career progression.
  • Tracking and monitoring the AIIM transformation agenda, aligned to targets set out by OMAI and AIIM.
  • Supporting the development of effective organizational change, learning, organization design, communication and talent management programs to drive business benefits.
  • Utilising HC analytics to identify HC trends and partnering with Investment Business Unit executive teams to drive IBU people performance.
  • Ensuring the completion of all statutory reporting and other ad-hoc Human Capital (HC) reports.
Other General OMAI HC Responsibilities
  • Ensuring that key AIIM people priorities are met.
  • Managing adherence to central HC controls and design and implement improvement initiatives to ensure an effective HC risk and control environment.
  • Managing the efficient implementation of the HC Calendar
  • Providing advice and assistance on Industrial Relations (IR) matters related to Basic Conditions of Employment Act (BCEA), Labour Relations Act (LRA), Employment Equity Act (EEA) and Skills Development Act (SDA) as well as procedures related to grievances and disciplinary action.
  • Tracking of key people metrics and providing input to board and investor reports as required.
Requirements: Skills, Qualifications and Experience required:
  • Appropriate Human Resources qualification
  • Proven experience as an HCBP (or similar role) supporting investment professionals within the private markets, asset management, or financial services industries is a key requirement.
  • Knowledge of and exposure to remuneration structures in Private Equity and Infrastructure firms would be advantageous.
  • At least 8-10 years HR work experience in Financial Services.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate across various geographical locations.

  • Is reliable, has integrity and displays a professional approach.
  • Will maintain confidentiality of all information, both from internal and external sources.
  • Will be proactive and a strong executor.
  • Can collaborate as a member of a multi-functional team.
