Senior Project Manager / Programme Manager

The Role
Please not we have two vacancies available which will have slightly different responsibilities, as outlined below:
Role 1
The role of the Senior Project Manager / Programme Manager will be responsible for managing and directing technology and infrastructure projects and / or programmes for Apex, depending on the demand within the portfolio. The role will report into the Technology Portfolio Lead.
Role 2
The role of the Senior Project Manager / Program Manager will be responsible for managing the technology integration of mergers and acquisitions within the Integrations Portfolio and will report to the Integrations Portfolio Lead.
Key Duties And Responsibilities
Project and Programme Management and Communication
- Managing and governing delivery across technology programs in alignment with agreed methodology.
- Set up steering boards, lead the meetings and provide status updates.
- Responsible for managing individual projects from initiation to closure (scoping, requirements definition, resource and financial planning, quality management, etc.) in alignment with agreed methodology.
- Providing oversight and guidance to project managers assigned to projects in a programme for which you are responsible.
- Monitoring the progress of project components to ensure the overall goals, schedules, budget, and benefits will be achieved.
- Ensuring projects are organized and executed in a consistent manner.
- Ensuring efficient communication with all relevant stakeholders, including C-suite.
- Leading project meetings and providing updates to different management groups.
- Working closely with the PMO team to ensure that the project documentation is consistent with the existing standards and internal processes and procedures.
- Directing work/projects, controlling cost/schedule elements, management of resources, communications management, reporting, and change management.
- Developing robust program and project risk management plans to ensure timely delivery, testing and commissioning of all projects with no impact to business continuity.
- Ensuring all programme and project documentation is maintained and of adequate quality.
- Ensuring project stage gates are in place and achieved.
- Liaise with the management from a resourcing perspective to ensure all resourcing plans are aligned with the program deliverables.
- Throughout programme life cycle, identify and manage program risks and issues, providing mitigation actions.
- Resolving cross-programme issues and strategic issues with senior stakeholders.
- Manage the programme within the defined financial targets (budget, target costing).
- Ensure all Programme Dependencies are mapped and managed.
- Initiating, planning, executing, and closing all project deliverables as committed.
- Establish, maintain and explain the program methodology, procedures, and policies, consistently within the Enterprise PMO rules and guidelines.
- Drive project planning and control from an operational point of view (activity, milestones and resource planning), with a special focus on core activities and global plan consolidation.
- Apply relevant project standards to build project management frameworks for all assigned projects.
- Identifying and assessing all risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies and the appropriate mitigating actions throughout the project life cycle.
- Creating and maintaining all required project documentation (PID, project plan, RAID log, etc.).
- Produce reports and analyses in support of the RAID management.
- Responsible for financial planning and controls related to assigned projects.
- Developing project estimates and plans to manage the end-to-end project execution .
- Ensuring project closure including completion of lessons learned and required documentation .
- Promoting and monitoring compliance activities with audit and information policies
- Ensure Stage Gates are in place.
- Ensure all Project Level dependencies are mapped and managed and achieved.
- Manage external vendors to ensure they deliver to time and budget deliverables.
- Lead the teams in developing Requests for Proposals (RFP) for external services.
- Support the vendor selection and management process (scope, plan, and milestone definition, operational issues, deliverable & milestone approval, quality control, etc.).
- Manage vendor administration (SOW activation, PCRs authorization, invoice approval).
- Manage external vendors to ensure on time and to budget delivery.
- Bachelor's degree required; Advance degree in IT related field or MBA preferred.
- 10+ Years Project Management experience managing all phases of technology and infrastructure projects, preferrably in a large global organization.
- 5+ Years managing large technology and infrastructure programmes.
- Experience working on projects in the financial services industry would be an advantage.
- Experience and accreditation in waterfall and agile (SAFe, Scrum, APMP, PMI, Prince 2 or equivalents).
- Deep project management experience managing large-scale, global implementations.
- Must possess extensive knowledge and expertise in the use of Project and Programme Management methodologies and tools.
- Passion for leading teams and implementing change.
- Demonstrated leadership skills. Strong negotiation and team-building skills with the ability to create consensus around decisions and mitigate conflicts among different teams.
- Ability to coordinate multiple teams in various locations and time zones.
- Strong problem solving, decision making, issue analysis and resolution skills.
- Big picture and detailed thinking skills.
- High communication skills required at all levels. Must be able to interact with senior leadership. Excellent command of verbal and written communication (English). Effective presentation style for all levels of stakeholders.

- Proficient in MS Office products including MS Project.
- Experience in coordinating a number of large interrelated technology projects.
- Experience in implementing Programme Level Governance and Control along with relevant reporting.
