Purpose of Position:
The role of the IT Project Manager is to plan, execute, and finalize projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan. The IT Project Manager will also define the projects objectives and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle.
Requirements:
Industry recognized certification in Project Management (Required), University Degree in Computer Science, Informatics or Business Administration (Post Graduate Degree preferred) (Required)
Required Experience:
8 12 years direct work experience in a project management capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution, Ability to coach leaders, teams, and Scrum Masters in Agile practices and mindsets, Ability to serve as a Scrum Master, facilitate scrum meetings, and lead sprint planning / demo / retrospective meetings effectively, Experience with project management software, Thorough knowledge of advanced concepts and basic operating principles of data communications and information systems hardware and software, Thorough knowledge of Agile methodology, to direct and coordinate the day-to-day activities, tasks and deliverables required from the project team according to the project plan, Thorough knowledge of current ITIL Framework and the ability to manage an Infrastructure Project as a service by directing and coordinating the day- to-day activities, tasks and deliverables required from the project team according to the project plan, Thorough knowledge of Project Management principles, concepts, and practices, Thorough knowledge of system development lifecycle used for the development of new systems and enhancements to existing information systems
Key Responsibilities:
Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project., Coach, mentor, motivate, and supervise project team members and contractors and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work., Conduct project post-mortems and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements., Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders., Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project life cycle., Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel., Determine and assess need for additional staff and/or consultants and make the appropriate recruitments, if necessary, during project cycle., Determine the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyse results, and troubleshoot problem areas., Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations., Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management., Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents., Direct and manage project development from beginning to end., Draft and submit budget proposals and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary., Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion., Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals., Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path., Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team., Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis., Manage and oversee large, long range, or multiple complex projects., Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools., Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans., Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders., Track project milestones and deliverables., Where required negotiate with other department managers for the acquisition of required personnel from within the company.
