PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
Teaching, research and community engagement in the field of Early Childhood Development and Education in Mathematics Education.
Job Description
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teaching
- Teaching several modules in ECDE Mathematics Education at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in both distance and contact mode
- Research and postgraduate supervision in the field of ECDE Mathematics Education, with appropriate publications
- Curriculum development, among others developing study material and study guides for ECDE Mathematics Education modules in the different programmes
- Community service
- Work-Integrated Learning / Teaching Practice
Senior Lecturer
- PhD Degree in ECDE Mathematics Education or equivalent (NQF 10)
- Professional Teachers Qualification in Foundation Phase Education or equivalent (NQF 6-8)
- Two accredited research publications and one successful higher degree supervision
- A minimum of 2 years experience in teaching or working in school settings in Foundation Phase or equivalent.
- A minimum of 3 years lecturing on full-time or part-time basis in post-school education.
- A relevant Masters degree in ECDE Mathematics Education or equivalent (NQF 9)
- Professional Teachers Qualification in Foundation Phase Education or equivalent (NQF 6-8)
- Indications of research involvement.
- A minimum of 2 years experience in teaching or working in school settings in Foundation Phase or equivalent.
- A minimum of 1 year lecturing on full-time or part-time basis in post-school education.
- SACE registration
The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
