Senior Manager: Risk & Assurance
The primary purpose of this role is to drive the development and implementation of effective risk management framework within all accounts / campaigns of Capita South Africa. Representing the risk & assurance function in all external and internal stakeholder engagement. Ensure effective risk oversight and governance in alignment with group risk & assurances objectives for those businesses as well as Capita South Africas overall business strategy.
The Roles Key Accountabilities Will Be To Provide
- Effective management and oversight of the risk & assurance teams in Capita South Africa, providing leadership and direction.
- Driving and embedding group risk framework across Capita South Africa; Provide risk oversight, challenge and advice to Capita South Africa management and staff. Ensure risk registers remain updated at all times and effective risk committee meetings are held at pre-decided intervals across all campaigns and Capita South Africa.
- Provide assurance to the Divisional management team from a risk standpoint that all key controls are functioning effectively and highlight gaps and associated mitigating actions where required.
- Ensuring that group policies are effectively embedded within all operations and support teams in South Africa.
- Assist in creating a culture of effective risk management that is embedded throughout Capita South Africas operations.
- Challenge and adequate oversight of all operational risk registers to ensure that these remain updated at all times and adequately reflect proper assessment of risks faced by the business at all times.
- Secretary to the Capita South Africa Risk committee meeting. Ensure effective risk committee meetings are held at pre-decided intervals across all campaigns and Capita South Africa.
- Support and advise operations regarding roll out and embedding of operation control frameworks such as T&C framework, Quality framework, Breach framework etc.
- Plan, execute and review risk assessment activities.
- Develop, maintain and deliver an effective risk assurance program.
- Advise the business regarding effective governance arrangements.
- Maintain good working relationships with onshore stakeholders and operational teams appropriate to the delivery of the risk framework, in line with contractual obligations and reasonable relationship requirements.
- Representing the Capita South Africa Risk & Assurance Team in all external and internal stakeholder engagement and at various forums within Risk across the Capita Group, positioning the Team as a Group resource.
- Managing the Capita South Africa Risk & Assurance team in the delivery of an effective risk framework ensuring that the team remains motivated and providing platform for skill development for all team members.
- Ensure that relevant issues are escalated to the Capita South Africas Leadership Team as well as divisional management, as appropriate.
Minimum Qualification:
- Relevant 3-year degree in Risk Management (or equivalent) Essential
- Post graduate qualification CA (SA) (Advantageous)
- Certification in Enterprise Risk Management or Compliance Management (Advantageous)
- Must have at least 5 years of experience in driving enterprise risk management framework across businesses.
- Overall 9- 10 years of experience in dealing with call center / back-office processes across multiple industry verticals and team management.
- Deep understanding business processes across multiple industries
- Strong knowledge of risk management frameworks and processes ISO 31000
- Strong analytical and logical reasoning skills.
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written) with the ability to influence and persuade.
- Ability to prioritise/ manage work and deliver on time.
- The ability to focus on detail without detriment to an appreciation of the bigger picture and commercial understanding.
- Ability to work unsupervised and under pressure.
- Experience of team management.
This position has a management responsibility.
