Senior Nail Technician

We are looking for a nail technician that specializes in the care and appearance of nails. What you will do is to provide a range of services related to nail health and beauty, including manicures, pedicures, nail extensions, and nail art.

Responsibilities

Client Services: Provide high-quality manicures, pedicures, and nail enhancements with exceptional attention to detail. This includes cleaning, filing, trimming, polishing, and repairing nails, as well as applying artificial nails and decorative nail art.
Customization and Consultation: Offer personalized consultations to clients to understand their preferences, recommend nail care solutions, and customize services to their specific needs.
Advanced Techniques: Employ advanced techniques and trends in nail art and nail care. This may include the use of gel, acrylic, dip powders, and innovative nail art designs.
Sanitation and Safety: Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation in all work areas, tools, and equipment according to health and safety regulations.
Product Knowledge and Sales: Possess in-depth knowledge of nail care products and services offered by the salon, and advise clients on home nail care. Upsell products and services where appropriate.
Team Leadership and Training: Act as a mentor to junior nail technicians by providing guidance, training, and feedback. Share knowledge of new techniques, products, and industry trends.
Customer Service: Ensure client satisfaction through excellent service and handling any complaints professionally.
Inventory Management: Assist in managing inventory levels of nail care supplies and equipment, including ordering and restocking as needed.
Appointment Management: Schedule client appointments and manage time effectively to accommodate multiple clients without compromising service quality.
Compliance and Standards: Adhere to all salon policies, procedures, and regulatory compliance requirements, including those related to hygiene and customer service.

Requirements Hard Skills:

Proficiency in full spectrum Nail Technology, encompassing:

Basic Manicure and Pedicure techniques
Gel Overlays, Tips, and Sculpting
Liquid & Powder Acrylic Overlays, Tips, and Sculpting
Advanced Nail Art capabilities
A minimum of three years of professional experience in the nail industry.
Proficient in the use of computers, with regular use of Excel and Word.

Soft Skills:

A genuine passion for the beauty industry and nail care.
Keen on disseminating knowledge within the field.
Professional appearance and punctuality.
Up-to-date with the latest trends in nail design.
Fluent in English, with the ability to communicate clearly regardless of accent.
Strong interpersonal, organizational, administrative, and multitasking skills.
Excellent time management, with the capability to finish tasks promptly and seek help when necessary.
Team player, willing to support colleagues as needed.

Non-Negotiables:

Mandatory participation in bi-monthly in-store demonstration days alongside a sales consultant to highlight new products, launches, and provide troubleshooting (excluding in-store training).
Compulsory attendance at bi-monthly AM and PM internal training sessions. Example timings include 7:30-8:30 AM remote training and 5:30-6:30 PM remote training, subject to change.
Standard working hours are from 8 AM to 5 PM at the Academy in Johannesburg. Occasional weekend or after-hours nail appointments may be scheduled, with notice and compensatory leave.
Adherence to strict Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), with comprehensive training provided before the start date and on an ongoing basis, which may occur outside of regular hours.
Exclusivity agreement preventing engagement in additional work, whether in beauty salons or other fields, during weekdays and weekends.
Must possess a car and a valid drivers license.
