Lesedi Nuclear Services is seeking an experienced and skilled Process Engineer to join our Industrial Division team. This is a critical role responsible for producing process designs, providing specialist inputs, leading commissioning efforts for projects, and supporting our multi-disciplinary engineering organisation.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
- Generate concept, preliminary and basic front-end process designs including flow sheets, P&IDs, specifications and more
- Size, select and specify process equipment like rotating equipment, vessels, tanks, hydraulic systems, heat exchangers, instrumentation
- Develop material and service specifications for projects
- Review process designs and facilitate HAZOP/FMECA studies
- Perform design optimizations, root cause analysis and continuous improvement
- Support plant layout reviews for operability and maintainability
- Participate in FATs, receipt inspections, testing and commissioning activities
- Provide process engineering expertise across the full project lifecycle
- Lead process engineering efforts for project tenders/proposals
- Support contract negotiations with technical inputs
- Eng. in Chemical Engineering
- Professional Engineering registration with ECSA
- Minimum 8 - 10 years of relevant process engineering experience
Knowledge
- Thorough understanding of process engineering principles and practices for industrial and utility industries
- Knowledge of OHS Act, regulations and its application
- Familiarity with ISO quality management systems
- Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and GAMP 5 guidelines
- Knowledge of production processes and plant maintenance requirements
- Proficiency in developing process designs (flow sheets, P&IDs, specifications)
- Proficiency in heat and mass balances
- Ability to size, select and specify process equipment like rotating machinery, vessels, tanks, hydraulics, heat exchangers, instrumentation
- Skills in hazard analysis techniques like HAZOPs and FMECAs
- Expertise in performing design optimizations, root cause analysis, continuous improvement
- Hands-on experience in testing, commissioning and plant optimization activities
