Job Purpose
We are seeking a versatile Senior Product Manager to drive the American Express Enterprise Line Card Portfolio P&L by providing leadership and strategic initiatives related to client lifecycle management, acquisition sales through various channels, new product development and oversight of marketing activities. This Senior Manager will also manage strategic relationships with external partners and third parties.
In this role you will develop strategies for growth of the American Express products and services (CVP's) across all segments based on client centered design and supported by market research, cost/benefit analysis, client needs assessment, prototyping, change management, marketing strategies and overall products/service commercialization that delivers a strong market share.
Job Responsibilities
- Take ownership and accountability for driving growth through relentless prioritization on initiatives and optimization of the American Express Enterprise Line Card Porfolio P&L
- Lead and manage existing customer relationships and work to identify opportunities to drive increased value for customer.
- Lead across functional teams to plan, execute and monitor progress against annual business plans.
- Develop specific potforlio management and alternate growth strategies to achieve aggressive performance targets.
- Perform financial analysis and financial modelling to create business cases on tactical and strategic product revenue opportunities and create demand for greater product take-up in the market through analysis, innovative practices and past experiences.
- Channel management, including planning, forecasting, reporting and operational oversight.
- Budget forecasting, planning and optimization.
- Innovate and optimize existing product CVP's and acquisition channels.
- Develop and manage relationships with external client partners and key internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with key partners in the cards value chain (e.g Segments, Operations, Risk, Sales) to ensure that the customer experience and service delivery is within agreed performance ranges/outcomes and manage improvements and remediation if required.
- Manage Comprehensive market intelligence/benchmarking/insights, with respect to consumer credit card products, value propositions, rewards and loyalty schemes, market and industry trends, new products/payment innovations and technology advancements.

- Matric/ Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate
- Advanced Diplomas/ National 1st Degree
- 5+ years' experience in a Product, Marketing, Business Development or Sales function
- Credit cards, payment, or recurring payments industry experience with demonstrated financial acumen and experience managing P&L
- Demonstrated ability to work in an ambiguous environment and to help simplify and create structure where non exists.
