As a Senior Commercial Project Developer, you will be responsible for ensuring the development and implementation of wind and/or solar projects to financial close, from initial site control stages and with a large focus on post-bid development. With a large focus on the commercial aspects of projects, you will be building and reviewing financial models and collating commercial contracts (EPC contracts, PPAs, etc.). You will further assist the PPA/offtake teams to bid for, and secure, PPAs and assist with related matters.
Your natural leadership abilities will enable you to lead interactions with the environmental, off-take, legal, grid, engineering, and construction teams thereby managing technical, commercial, and financial workstreams, and managing junior developers.
You will be responsible for ensuring the timely acquisition, and compliance, of project rights such as permits, consents, land rights, leases, and lease obligations. To this point, creating and maintaining strong relations with local communities, landowners, government agencies, and other stakeholders, will be key to your role as you will lead interactions with local interest groups and I&APs during the EIA process.
A key focus will be the development of technical concepts and solutions for the projects from a technical, commercial, and execution perspective including the civil, mechanical, and electrical aspects of solar PV and wind plants, interconnection and high-voltage design, and yield assessments.

Education Requirements
- A qualification in a relevant field such as Engineering, Project Management, Finances, or Environmental
- MBA preferred
- Experience with large renewable energy projects (4+ years).
- Previous experience leading similar teams and assuming similar tasks and responsibilities.
- Experience taking the project from bid stage to financial close.
In this role, you would be responsible for managing external affairs through the communication and engagement of stakeholders. You would need to drive the PPA process by interfacing with the off-take team and coordinate with the REIPPPP and Commercial Bid Manager and/or Senior Business Developer to put together their respective bids.
This role would also require you to assume responsibility for the inputs into the financial model. You would need to provide project progress reports to internal stakeholders, SteerCo, and shareholders, as well as budget, risk, and schedule updates within development activities.
