Responsibilities
- Spearhead project development to Identify, develop and evaluate new and existing projects opportunities for solar, wind, storage, and hybrid technologies in South-Africa
- Identify and secure land rights, grid connection feasibility, lead permitting and all authorizations until Financial Close using GIS and other tools, assisting in the project development process
- Manage the day-to-day activities and contacts for the project, including subcontractors, consultants, and suppliers
- Ensure the technical and commercial feasibility of the project and propose measures to reduce risk, time, and cost of implementation
- Prepare and manage project budgets and schedules
- Ensure the implementation of the projects development in line with the Company objectives and targets
- Work in close cooperation and contact with the Development Manager
- Ensure that projects are developed on-time, within budget and compliant
- Work in close collaboration with Internal Departments
- Perform risk management to minimize project and development risks
- Manage and report on time all changes in project scope, schedule, and costs
- Report and escalate to Development Manager & Steering Committee as needed
- Manage the relationship with internal and external stakeholders
- Create, store, and maintain comprehensive project documentation
- Prepare presentations and reports for Steering Committee, International Development team and Controlling
- Bachelors degree in engineering, economics, business, or related major
- Post-graduation or specialization in project Management is a plus
- Ideally 5 years working as a Project Developer in South Africa
- Prior experience in the renewable energy sector is a plus
- Experience in interacting with external stakeholders in a professional environment
- Advanced user of Project Management tools
- English and other language a plus.
