The CSIR has a vacancy for Senior Project Manager in Radar and Electronic Warfare in the Defence and Security. The incumbent will be responsible for the management and delivery of internal and external projects in the Radar Area. This position is based in Pretoria and will report to the Business Development Manager.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage projects in the radar domain across their full life cycle, including contributing to business development efforts, including proposal creation and contracting
- Monitor and enable day-to-day progress and effectiveness (projects, business, operations, governance)
- Conduct regular interactions with various levels and forms of (internal and external) project stakeholders
- Take responsibility for the delivery of projects on brief, on budget, and on time
- Ensure good governance and quality
- Effectively interface with organisational services and functions to facilitate and drive project execution
- Contribute to the running of the Radar Area through taking responsibility for some Area-wide business and governance processes.
- A Bachelors degree in engineering with at least three years experience, and some form of recognised project management training;
- A post-graduate qualification and formal Project Management certification will be advantageous;
- Experience in managing complex multi-year projects with significant inhouse new development with own technical development team and measurable successful outcomes would be advantageous;
- Experience in managing international projects would be advantageous;
- Experience in managing complex electronics development projects with significant inhouse new development would be an advantage;
- Knowledge and experience relating to radar and/or high-end electronic systems and/or aerospace projects would be advantageous;
