My client, a medium sized and well established quantity surveying firm based in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town, offers a comprehensive range of professional property consulting services such as project management of the building process of property developments on behalf of clients. They have a vacancy in their professional team of approximately 10 persons for a senior Quantity Surveyor for the execution of prestigious projects in the Western Cape. In this senior role this person shall be responsible for:
- Attending various project meetings on the building sites;
- Follow-up on decisions to ensure that actions are attended to and deadlines are met and thus ensure that projects are executed according to the plan;
- Coordinate the trafficking of required documentation as well as the communication between stakeholders such as the architect, designers, quantity surveyors, building contract managers and the clients;
- Identify, compile and execute viability studies
- Prepare contract tenders
- Do project cost estimates as well as cash-flow forecasts and update periodically
- Prepare final accounts of sub-contractors and clients
- Finalise monthly cost reports and issue payment certificates to clients
Qualification and experience required:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying
- Registered with SACQSP as a QS
- 5 years experience in contract administration, commercial building, project management and working in a consulting firm
If you also have:
- knowledge of JBCC and NEC
- proficiency in WinQS or Dimension X
- experience in project management and the handling of more than one project at a time
- prefer to work in an action oriented and highly demanding pressure work environment where deadlines constantly need to be met
- the ability to deal with various issues simultaneously
