Senior Quantity Surveyor
Location: Home-Based with flexibility to travel across London/South East
Salary: 60, 000 - 80, 000 depending on experience plus car allowance, bonus and benefits
Our client provides a complete range of roofing services across the Southeast of England, specialising in new build and refurbishment projects and working with some of the industrys largest developers and main contractors.
The business is growing and has exciting plans to continue developing and expanding over the next few years and it is now looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their experienced team.
This is a new role and the successful candidate will have responsibility for managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of construction projects.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Ensuring that the project is completed within its projected budget, providing cost and material estimates, managing subcontractor and supplier payments, and identifying potential financial risks
- Evaluating and negotiating contracts and tenders
- Managing contracts and subcontracts, ensuring all terms and conditions are met
- Identifying and mitigating financial and contractual risks
- Conducting valuations of work in progress and completing valuations for interim payments
- Liaising with clients, project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers, and coordinating with site management teams to ensure that all financial aspects of the project are controlled
- Ensuring projects are compliant with legal, contractual, and construction standards and regulations
- A self-starter, who is adaptable, flexible and capable of managing a dynamic workload in a fast paced environment
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, both internally and externally
- Proven experience in quantity surveying, preferably within the construction industry
- Excellent commercial skills gained through experience in a relevant field
- Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and legal regulations
- Proficient in cost estimation, financial management, and contract administration
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or relevant experience
