The Role
This role will sit within the risk team and report directly to the Risk Manager.
The Senior Risk Analyst will be responsible for performing various duties to aid in protecting the firm against financial losses.

These include:
  • Automation of GPPs risk control spreadsheets using VBA macros & SQL (core responsibility) and development of new automated risk controls.
  • Identification of workflow gaps and generation of automatic processes and reports from multiple data sources
  • Working with system data to gather insights that will enhance risk management within the firm.
  • Providing analysis that measures and monitors credit (client and counterparty), operational, liquidity, and market risk and working to mitigate identified risks.
  • Producing and circulating of daily margin calls and coordinating solutions to resolve outstanding margin calls.
  • Establishing, monitoring, and reporting on Key Risk Indicators and risk controls.
  • Implementing corrective action plans to mitigate risks.
  • Working closely with Risk Managers to support them in their roles.
  • Applying and entrenching the GPP Risk Management Framework and Policy.
  • Assessing new client credit profiles.
  • Liaising with operations teams and assisting with client queries where necessary.
  • Presenting to the Executive Risk Committee and participating in team and related project meetings.
  • Conducting Risk and Control Self Assessments with various departments across the business
  • Contributing to ad hoc projects.
  • Reviewing client payment requests.
  • Representing the values of GPP, displaying professional conduct, and adhering to required technical standards.

Skills and Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years of experience in a Senior Risk Analyst/Data Analyst or similar role within Financial Services.
  • Strong VBA and SQL skills with respect to data profiling and data discovery as well as high proficiency in MS Excel.
  • An undergraduate degree is a requirement. Further qualifications such as Honours/Masters in a finance related field, or risk management designations such as FRM, IRM, or CFA would be advantageous.
  • Experience with trading tools like Bloomberg and IRESS is useful.
  • Presentation skills including confidence in speaking in front of a small audience and using PowerPoint
