Job Summary
As a Sales Engineer, you will play a pivotal role alongside our Account Executive Team, spearheading Equinix's success and driving the company's growth. In this influential position, you will serve as a trusted technical advisor, providing guidance to customers, partners, and colleagues alike.
Responsibilities
Technical Consulting and Sales Support
- Identify and assess customers' business needs, challenges, and technical requirements, aligning them with appropriate Equinix solutions
- Leverage in-depth knowledge of Equinix products and services to effectively present and promote Equinix solutions
- Analyze and evaluate moderate scope problems and situations using sound judgment and data-driven insights
- Provide comprehensive support for small to mid-size customer meetings and facilitate tours
- Offer expert technical solution design support to assigned Sales account executives
- Apply expertise and discretion within established practices and procedures to determine optimal solutions
- Assist in the preparation of Request for Information/Proposal/Quote (RFI/P/Q) documents as requested by Sales Representatives
- Develop and deliver all necessary customer-facing deliverables, occasionally seeking guidance from Global Technical Sales Management or peers
- Demonstrate professionalism and effectiveness in communicating with customers, both verbally and in writing
- Provide pre-sales support for all Equinix products and services
- Deliver high-quality technical support during sales presentations, customer meetings, and trade shows
- Exhibit a solid understanding of Equinix's data center, network, and cloud products and services
- Maintain basic industry knowledge and stay updated with the competitive landscape
- Support sales teams in acquiring new business and fostering existing customer relationships
- Collaborate with internal teams (Global Technical Sales, Customer Success, Operations, Implementation, etc.) to ensure seamless project transitions from pre-sales to post-sales
- Actively contribute to cultivating a positive team culture
- Demonstrate proficient presentation skills
- Provides feedback on various business opportunities and issues
- Typically requires a Bachelors degree and a minimum of 3 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent work experience
- Good experience in the functional domains of Enterprise IT Systems, Network, Datacentre, including implementation and technical support preferred
- Fluent in English is a must
- Good experience of Solutions Selling in a commercial pre-sales position preferred
- Bachelors degree in computer science or related engineering discipline and a minimum of 5 years of related experience preferred
- Advanced industry certifications (i.e. Cisco, VMware, MS, AWS) preferred
