Role purpose:
Represent their business function on the Data Governance Committee.
Involved in making business critical decisions about the data they own.
Responsible for data privacy and cyber security assessments.
Own the risk of sharing data outside of the organization.
Accountable for approving data retention and extensions if required.
Accountable for data quality for their business function.
Responsible to ensure that data is not duplicated in multiple environments creating Shadow IT
Responsible to ensure that D&A develops all standard scripts for performance KPIs to avoid Shadow D&A
Your responsibilities will include:
Business Ownership: To clearly define product roadmaps outlining data and reporting requirements. And to partner with D&A at being the business owner of created data assets in a D&A & IT controlled common data platform
Month-end reporting & analytics: Central BI analyst responsible for the delivery of month end data as well as insights
BI Solutions: Partner with Qlik developers and solution architects to design transformational analytical solutions
Actionable Insights: Deliver daily and monthly insights from data models to support commercial action and financial steering
Portfolio Optimisation: Increase the penetration of D&A products within the Regions through portfolio reviews, effective stakeholder management and a decommission plan of sprawled reporting
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
Must have technical / professional qualifications:
Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Technology, Engineering or related field essential and
A Minimum Of 5 Years Relevant Experience Essential
Excellent knowledge of SQL and working with relational databases
Comfortable working with Agile as part of a high-performance diverse team across three geographies
Core competencies, knowledge, experience:
Outstanding analytical skills and problem solving ability
Experience of working on complex data modelling projects to support strategic, financial and regulatory mandates
Advanced SQL skills including extensive experience querying large, complex data sets
Deep knowledge of Vodacoms income statement structure in HFM and the supporting drivers of revenue and cost
Experience in working in visualisation tools like Qlik Sense or Qlik View
Experience of working with and presenting to senior leaders and executives with excellent oral and written communication skills
Capable of working under pressure, particularly for regulatory or month end reporting deadlines
Ability to work as a team with other BI professionals, with the desire to develop junior data analysts
