About The Role
This position reports to the SA Technology Manager and is responsible for supporting the School Leadership Team and other functional teams at the school in the planning, development and implementation of all technology-related projects related to academic systems, residential life, sports activities, and school-based events.
Your responsibilities include:
Software, Hardware & Network Management & Maintenance
- Install, configure and troubleshoot all hardware and software-related equipment and systems in line with the internal Nova Pioneer set guidelines or vendor Service Level Agreements
- Troubleshoot and execute or supervise the repair of network, hardware and software components.
- Facilitate performance of routine maintenance and inspection of network equipment and server systems
- Test network and server systems to verify functionality and performance
- Perform hardware and software upgrades to achieve the optimum performance level.
- Ensure minimal interruption of internet uptime and proactively communicate when there is anticipated or unexpected interruption.
- Monitor and document service performance metrics and maintain an Operations Excellence tracking and monitoring dashboard.
- Ensure uninterrupted availability of printing services at all times.
- Ensure print server and user settings are configured to provide consistent on-demand printing services.

- Ensure all terms and conditions articulated in the Service Level Agreements are adhered to by proactively engaging with the vendors.
- Support families, students and teammates with technology requests.
- Support teachers during technology-aided lessons or as needed
- General technology setup requests, especially during events and meetings hosted at the school or central teams
- Assist with check in / check out of laptops for student use
- Administer school systems and help to manage student and teammate accounts within all core systems
- Assist with deployment, training and management of school systems
- Assist with generation of report cards (grading) and other documents
- Assist with setting up and maintaining an accurate list of student and teammate accounts on all our systems
- Assist with set-up of online tests as required by the school
- Assist in the management of security systems i.e. CCTV and access control
- Securely store and manage all technology assets, including laptops, projectors, network equipment, etc
- Maintain a very clear and accurate record of all tech-assets.
- Order and stock IT equipment and supplies when necessary
Required qualifications:
- A diploma/degree in an IT related field or a minimum of five years technical experience (Experience in IT support is an added advantage)
- Highly proficient in the following skills; Data management, Use of excel, Project management, Team-oriented thinking, Vendor relationship management experience and Procurement experience.
- You pay attention to detail and work with high accuracy
- Proficient and able to demonstrate competence and comfort with
- Network software configuration
- Print server management and implementation
- Firewall and server security management
- Cabling and physical network maintenance
- Windows Server 2016 and Windows 10 desktop administration
- Onsite and remote helpdesk support
- GSuite Applications use and administration
- You are a thoughtful planner with ability to multi-task, take initiative, prioritise effectively, and deliver for multiple stakeholders according to tight deadlines
- You are results-driven, you, move fast and take ownership of your work
- Having a personality that demonstrates interpersonal skills to relate well with students, staff, administration, parents and the community
- You are a great communicator. You are able to provide clear and effective written communication (email and letters) and verbal communication.
