Job Duties
The Senior Test Analyst/Lead QA Tester will be responsible for leading and coordinating the testing activities within the banking and finance industry. Duties include creating test plans, identifying test scenarios, executing test cases, and providing detailed reports on test outcomes. The role involves collaborating with stakeholders to ensure the quality of software applications meets industry standards.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in software testing within the banking or finance sector or unit trust environments
- Demonstrated leadership skills in coordinating testing efforts
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Manage delivery of work stream test activity per Work Package
- Produce the Detailed Test Plan for the Work Package as well as sprints within work packages for acceptance testing.
- Report on the performance of their work stream (including any test reports and metrics)
- Produce Daily Test Summary Reports during test execution on behalf of test team
- Chair entry and exit meeting for assigned test phases during acceptance testing
- Requests deployments and refreshes of the database to the test environments that they are responsible for after consultation with the Programme Test Lead as well as team members and other Test Team Leads.
- Work with other Test Team leads to identify any issues with the test process.
- Work with other Test Team leads to work out regression testing required.
- Defect management and triage prioritisation where there are conflicts
- Review test basis documents and develop test requirements, cases, scripts and data
- Execute tests and documents results with evidence
- Log defects and retest fixes
A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Min ISTQB Foundation phase
Experience
Minimum of 5 years of experience in software testing, with at least 2 years in a lead role.
Knowledge And Skills
- Proficiency in test planning, execution, and reporting
- Understanding of testing methodologies and best practises
- Experience with test management tools
- Knowledge of banking and finance industry regulations
- Certifications in software testing (e.g., ISTQB)
- Experience with automation testing tools
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies
