The main purpose of the job is to manage the workshop to its full potential and assist the Branch manager in his/her functions.
Reporting: This position reports to the Branch Manager.
Job Objectives:
Manage Key Performance Areas of staff.
- Disciplinary procedures.
- Conduct interviews.
- Manage staff development -Training matrix of staff.
- Prioritizing workload.
- Plan shifts, standby.
- Compile reports.
- Inform Product Support Department of product failures.
- Ensure that technical information is updated.
- Ensuring that warranty claims are administered as per the warranty binder.
- Ensure that maintenance contract claims are administered.as per the policies and procedures.
- Ensure that Health & Safety is managed as per the OHSA 85 of 1993 and Volvo policy directives.
- Manage the Lean for Retail program.
- Manage mechanics KPIs Productivity, Efficiency & Utilization.
- Manage and Control mechanics overtime.
- Ensuring that work is carried out to Volvo Standard and as arranged / agreed with customers.
- Constant customer feedback.
- Handle customer queries.
- Promote labour and sublet sales.
- Ensure optimal management of customer accounts.
- Proper cost control.
- Promote labour and sublet sales.
- Ensure that all cash is collected.
- Proper cost control.
- Ensure the workshop is profitable.
- Maintain targets as per KPIs and Business plan.
- Manage the WIP to ensure same day invoicing.
- Assist the Branch Manager in managing the branch to ensure profitability.
- Ensure operating cost is reduced to acceptable standards and targets.
- Ensure that the labour is productive and efficient.
- Customer satisfaction is maintained and exceeded.
- Create an environment that fosters excellence.
- Ensure all processes in area of responsibility are following ISO standard.
- Ensure the safety process are followed.
- Ensure the Safety Act and Regulation is adhered to.
- Matric/N3.
- Qualified mechanic and Transport Management (Diploma).
- 5 years experience as workshop Manager.
- Computer literate (Automate and V-cads).
- Confident.
- Self-motivated and able to work without direct supervision.
- Work under pressure.
- Administration skills.
- Excellent Customer skills.
- Compile technical reports.
- Management of staff-Planning, leading, organizing and controlling.
