Service Operations Manager

The Operations Service Manager SSA directs all aspects of the day-to-day operations in a region/zone organization to ensure efficiency and performance in accordance with the corporate objectives, strategy and plans.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Functional responsibility for all service technicians in South Africa.
  • Oversee, monitor, evaluate, and improve all aspects of the regions service performance.
  • Define, execute, and monitor the regional service strategy ensuring alignment with regional and global strategic objectives.
  • Lead, guide, evaluate, and develop a team of service technicians to ensure that the organization achieves it business objectives and complies with all relevant regulations and laws.
  • Produce relevant monthly/annual reports as required.
  • Maintain a high level of focus on safety and housekeeping throughout all Service Centres.
  • Ensure all seals scoped/refurbished are as per standard operating procedures and API standards.
  • Maintain continuous improvement through SES programs.
  • Provide, where required customer onsite support.
  • Maintain maintenance schedules for all equipment through the deployment of TPM programs.

The Individual
  • Relevant Management diploma (Degree preferred)
  • Minimum 6+ years of experience in similar role, in a technical or engineering industry and minimum 2- 3 years in a managerial role is preferred.
  • Engineering knowledge in a proactive multicultural environment.
  • A strong technical knowledge of John Crane product portfolio (Preferred).
  • Knowledge of rotating equipment (pumps and mechanical seals) is a must.
  • Service and / or Supply Chain environment experience is advantageous.
  • Fitter and Turner advantageous but not required.
  • Will supervise Service Centre Technicians
  • Proficient in English language is mandatory.
  • Candidates currently in Cape town preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work environment is typically considered an office environment during normal or extended business hours. A limited amount of travel within the region is also expected.
