We are looking for a Service Delivery Payroll Manager who will be acountable for overseeing Teams performing retained day-to-day activities associated with employee data maintenance and payroll activities on behalf of employees and contractors for the Europe and Africa region, while driving efficient, effective, and regulatory compliant processes.

- Manage and lead teams that contribute to the on-time delivery and accuracy of day-to-day payroll and local regulatory compliance activities, such as reviewing operational performance metrics and develop strategies to increase capability, effectiveness and efficiency
- Manage scopes of work in the UK, France and South Africa
- Support teams on technical and process guidance activities such as solving complex escalations from Employees and HR
- Drive and monitor compliance with company policies, internal control standards and regulatory requirements such as ensuring frequency-based sign off on controls are performed
- Partner with stakeholders to lead the resolution of complex payroll and/or employee data solutions, including the delivery of ad hoc business requirements
- Support and manage various business or continuous improvement initiatives such as end to end process improvement and simplification
- Coach and develop the performance of the team in line with Rio Tintos company values
- Certified Payroll Manager or equivalent
- Bachelors or other University degree
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Strong in organizing, planning and prioritizing demands
- Extensive experience in employee data maintenance or payroll activities with a comprehensive understanding of relevant UK, FR and South Africa payroll legislation.
- Knowledge of SAP or similar system within a payroll environment of at least 1000+ employees
- Good experience in generalist Human Resources policies and activities
- Resilience and the ability to thrive in a continuous improvement culture and have a strong commitment to team-based processes and outcomes
- Capacity and versatility to operate in a large and dynamic organization which involves delivering business objectives remotely and across a diverse workforce
- Excellent interpersonal influencing, motivating, coaching, communication, negotiation, and consultation skills along with managing your time to deliver priorities with a high attention to detail
- A desire for greater exposure on strategic management in Shared services.
