Service Technician - BEV

Mission

This position is to promote the technical support and communication flow, technical service and competence of the BEV machines within Epiroc and our Customers. To ensure Customer Satisfaction, through the cognizance of machine performance, and availability, including operating costs, and the safety of employees as well as the efficiency of labour.

Successful implementation of new battery technology in the South African market, delivering on mutual agreed KPIs for production and costs.

Develop new local maintenance standards to ensure a pro-active and preventative maintenance strategy.

Highlight and implement safety standards for battery technology.

Strengthen the Epiroc brands reputation in the BEV technology in the local market.

Main Responsibilities Or Job Functions

Technical Support for BEV customers in your area of responsibility as assigned by your manager.

Underground and Site visits followed by electronic site reports to manager and customer.

Conduct regular machine audits on all BEV equipment in your area

Troubleshooting and technical assistance on BEV machines in your area of responsibility.

Develop and implement pro-active maintenance strategies with the customer

Build strong relationships with our BEV customers, as you will be the customers first point of contact.

Expected to assist in other areas / divisions in the Company when needed

Communications within different departments

Assist Workshop with compiling quotes for repair and rebuild work

Be prepared to work outside normal working hours in emergency or breakdown situations.

Main Duties:

Technical Support for BEV customers include:

Provide hands on general planned maintenance tasks

Provide services on battery packs and battery loading station

Provide hands on preventative maintenance support

Provide maintenance planning based on machine hours and via condition monitoring (Certiq)

Commissioning of machines:

Pre-delivery service, some in workshop and on site

Commissioning of BEV equipment - cold and hot commissioning

Implementation and monitoring of BEV machines in your area of responsibility

Weekly status reports

Suggested improvements to Epiroc and customers

Record keeping of implementation process with suggested improvements

Communication:

Electronic site visit reports to costumers and manager

Customer productivity and machine performance

Customer technical and commercial problems

Communication with your manager and or planner, on an ongoing basis of your movements

Monthly labour utilization must be above 85%, working hours need to be reported daily.

Required Skills and Capabilities:

Very strong technical background:

Very good knowledge and experience on TMM hydraulics and mechanical

Very good knowledge and experience on 24Vdc control circuits on TMM

Very good knowledge and experience on electrical circuits up to 1000Vac

Computer literacy Good working knowledge of Microsoft packages

Good customer relations

Good telephone manners and skills

Interpersonal skills to work with customers and suppliers and to work as part of the Technical Support team

Develop a strong track record in value adding services with tangible results. Be able to work independently without supervision

Be presentable to customers in grooming and dress code

Go the extra mile attitude, never run away from a problem

Pass medical checks to be allowed to work in underground condition

Experience on underground TMM equipment.

Educational Qualification:

Grade 12

Technical qualification (Trade Test)
