The role is based at one of our large foods producing client sites and entails the management of our chemical product supply onto that site as well as the oversight over all cleaning and water treatment processes that require the use of our products. Testing and recording of chemical product strengths, in the various cleaning applications, as well as the water quality testing on site will be the primary routine and will include the provision of written and oral feedback to the client production and quality management. Daily checking of stock levels, chemical dosing equipment and the correct functioning water purification equipment will also form part of the function.
Overview of Job Requirements:
- On-Site Customer Relationship Management
- Ensure a professional approach when dealing with the various Heads of Departments
- Written and verbal communication must comply with STH code of conduct and should always be executed in a professional manner.
- Ensure timeous and professional response to customer queries and complaints o Attend Site based meetings as required by the Client and keep minutes or notes for Company purposes. Report any risk items arising from such meetings to Management.
- Provide timeous feedback and status update on projects managed by STH o Attend to Daily/ weekly reporting to Client and Management on matters pertaining to Cleaning and Hygiene practices and issues.
- Actively promote regular reviews with customer management team on matters relating to Hygiene.
- Technical / Chemical / Site Functions o Monitor chemical usage per client department.
- Pro-active identification of chemical, water and energy saving opportunities.
- Effective problem solving
- Analyse concentration of in-use chemical solutions.
- Support cleaning product trials.
- Inspect and ensure all chemical dosing equipment is in good service condition, carry out servicing, maintenance and minor repairs as required to keep the systems fully functionable.
- Prepare work orders for servicing and repairs which cannot be conducted yourself
- Update site action lists for presentation to your manager
- Manage and execute tasks set out by management for the client within prescribed deadlines
- Check SOPs applicable to the site service for accuracy update where necessary
- Perform all services in a professional and workmanlike manner, ensure good quality.
- Maintain the company's image, by being professional at all times.
- Present in a neat and professional manner with Company Branded Clothing and PPE.
- Conduct routine audits of the operation as per the agreed timeframes using defined templates.
- Conduct application verification activities as defined by STH Management and the customer
- Report any excessive stock usages to Management for equipment checks to be conducted
- Provide on the job training to customer employees covering safe handling of chemicals and any specific application as requested and agreed with the customer
- Ensure all hygiene related signage, displayed in various areas are current, up to standard, clearly legible.
- Site Stock Control o Order stock from head office to ensure stock levels on site are maintained.
- Receive stock on site (according to SOP) and follow up on outstanding stock items
- Report over/under supply or damaged stock.
- Attend to chemical stock control and issuing.
- Perform stock counts as required by head office and report outcomes to head office.
- Work with customers procurement department to ensure orders are placed on time to maintain sufficient and adequate stock levels on site and ensure there is sufficient stock for weekends.
- Maintain chemical storage areas in neat and clean condition ensuring all Health & Safety requirements are met.
- Control client owned stock accurately and separately from company stock
- Administration, Communication & Reporting o Accurate data gathering and report generation.
- Report all testing (daily, weekly, monthly) and related data
- Complete site related documentation in an accurate and professional manner
- Escalate any anomalies or test results which are out of specification immediately
- Take responsibility for client requirements in your area through feedback to your divisional manager and by escalating queries where required to the Senior Representative or Management
- Health & Safety & Equipment o Ordering, issuing and display of chemical safety signage in all areas.
- Comply with Company and Client (Site) health and safety rules and requirements
- Assist with induction of visiting staff and comply with site H&S requirements
- Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required
- Manage and update health and safety site file
- Execute tasks in a safe and careful manner
- Make sure all tools and testing equipment undergo regular checks to ensure safe and good working order report any issues, ensure test equipment is calibrated in line with site requirements.
- Ensure all chemicals have safety data sheets and that the safety data sheets are displayed and available at points of use, and ensure safety data sheets are up to date.
- Ensure legitimate removal of expired or unwanted chemical products and or empty packaging.
- 5 years experience within Chemistry in Water Treatment or Microbiology. Practical experience in Food and Beverage industry is essential.
- Analytical Chemistry Degree or Microbiology is essential
- Experience in dealing with clients
- Experienced driver with valid drivers License essential
