IOSP Service Technician/ Administrator

An IOSP Service Technician is sought by our client, a global leader in ship building.

Job Summary

The role will be based in Cape Town, it will report in to the IOSP Team Leader. This role will be responsible for delivering technical support as part of the after sales of the project to fulfil the order of the vessel/ship.

This function plays a key role in After Sales and Service Engineering

processes.

About Our Client

Our Client builds ships in Africa for Africa. To date they have constructed and delivered many vessels to the African continent over the years. Countries that the yard has delivered to include South Africa, Zanzibar, Angola, Kenya, Nigeria and Tanzania. Vessel type constructed and delivered have included inshore and offshore patrol vessels, dredgers, tugs, naval craft, research vessels, pontoons, and supply vessels.

THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT

In order to be shortlisted for this position, the successful candidate will present the following skills and competencies:-

• Certificate in Marine Engineering, or Nautical studies
• 1- 2 years experience in marine or vessel production environment.
• Analytical Ability
• Quality Awareness
• Working efficiency

JOB DESCRIPTION

Technical Administration

• Receive and process Client feedback as part of the weekly and monthly returns.
• Capture records of maintenance tasks and maintenance plan data.
• Maintain the warranty register and warranty claim records for all project shipbuilding.

Service coordination and quality control

• Act as a central point of contact for communication between the service engineering teams, other departments, suppliers.
• Facilitate effective communication and collaboration to ensure service and warranty repair timelines and objectives are met.

Documentation management

• Generate reports on project progress, Provide regular updates to management and project stakeholders.
• Capture and draft minutes from weekly and monthly IOSP meetings.

Training

• Acquaint with service manual or maintenance book to be able to resolve queries before there is recurring breakdown and or damage to other components or parts of the vessel.
