Purpose of Role: A shift leader will manage day-to-day KPIs in order to ensure that all KPIs are achieved within the target date. This role also ensures that all safety compliance is adhered to at all times. They are responsible for coordinating and controlling production administrative system in accordance with relevant policies, procedures and statutory regulations/legislation.

Key Responsibilities:
- Safety: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.
- 8, 2 (i)/ legal responsibilities: Responsibility for all safety requirements and plant legal. Adhere to Duty of Care policy. Manage safety and housekeeping in compliance with company and OHS act requirements. Co-ordinate and control production administrative system in accordance with relevant policies, procedures, any statutory regulations / legislation. Adherence to all statutory HSE and housekeeping / 5S requirements
- Manage Cost & Production: Manage daily line output, determine root causes and countermeasures on misses. Liaise with costing and planning on daily plant run rates. Liaise with material coordinator to manage daily expenses and cost increases/reductions.
- Planned Maintenance: Liaise with asset planner on scheduled equipment tasks. Equipment OEE.
- Quality Assurance: Demonstrate 100% commitment towards zero defects and process improvements. Use 5-Whys and A3 tools for scrap countermeasures and preventative measurements.
- Implementation of sustainable systems to control daily targets and outputs: Use of velocity reports to manage lead time and aging. Use of OTD reports to manage delivery. Use of availability reports to manage delivery.
- Matric (Grade 12) or N3 certificate or equivalent
- 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment (in a supervisory role)
- Administrative experience in the manufacturing industry (pump/process manufacturing environment would be an advantage)
- Exposure to and implementation of lean manufacturing
- Implementation and maintenance of the OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 standards
