- NTC 3 Trade Theory certificate
- Must have 5+ years of experience with Shipbuilding and Drydocking.
- Knowledge of boiler, welding, and fabrication processes
- 5+ years of experience in a supervisory role.
- Must be able to read, write and communicate clearly with supervisor/co-workers and understand direction from supervisor.
- Must be able to utilize basic math and read a variety of precision measuring tools and gauges.
- Supervise and coordinate activities of boilermakers engaged in the building of numerious sea vessels.
- Oversee the layout and building modules/part to construct ship and joining modules to build ships.
- Tactically plan operations for scheduling workloads in crews efficiently utilizing assets and resources to minimize cost.
- Read blueprints and specifications to determine the scope of work: locations, quantities, and sizes of materials required. and job orders to workers and assigns duties.
- Identify all tools required for tasks and safety risks and the precautions required to eliminate those risks.
- Direct workers in the repair of boilers, tanks, vats, and pressure vessels
- Trains subordinates in job-specific requirements.
- Study construction schedules and estimates work-hour requirements for completion of job assignment
- Establish or adjust work procedures to meet schedules.
- Recommend measures to improve productivity and quality of work performed.
- Analyze and resolve work problems or assists to achieve project goals.
- Ensure that completed work meets specifications.
- Illustrate in-depth knowledge of all boilermaker processes.
